The cadastre of public-law restrictions on landownership shows what may be built on a parcel.
The PLR cadastre (in German: ÖREB-Kataster) is Switzerland's official information system for public-law restrictions on a property: zoning, noise sensitivity level, groundwater protection zones, polluted sites, forest distances, building lines and more. Every canton maintains it under federal rules.
For building-land searches the PLR extract is the key source: it states authoritatively whether a parcel lies in a building zone and which conditions apply.
